 Our partner, Tony of Greater Impact Foundation, works with the staff and kids at our Hope Centers daily. We are so thankful to have a partner who, as an American citizen, has been willing to give up so much to follow his passion and calling, especially during this time where traveling is not as frequent due to the current state of our world. He is in contact with us, giving us updates and sending photos regularly. We can not be more proud to work alongside him. Through his leadership, we have been privileged to help rescue nearly 80 children from some of the most impoverished areas in the world. Watching them thrive is beyond humbling.

Here is a breakdown of what we (a handful of ladies) did during our November trip!  We determine the projects we will do on our trips Susan is a counselor and came up with a therapeutic craft to do with the kids. We brought tons of materials for the kids to personalize their own notebooks and encouraged them to write their stories, hopes, dreams, and everything else in these notebooks. We brought each of the kids a picture of themselves to put on their notebook and they loved it!
  First Aid Courtney and Lauren taught the kids how to prevent spreading germs and what to do in emergency situations.
 They played a game with the kids to wave their red flags when they were acting out a dangerous scenario or if they saw a potential of spreading germs.  We were able to put a fresh coat of paint on the center. The staff & kids were eager & excited to paint! They are so proud of their home.
 This is a little store run by Fedline(in the orange). She is one of the students in our entrepreneurial business training program. You can get a delicious fresh hot tapa, candy, and other treats at her store!  Dione painted a mural with the help of Rivarold and some of the other kids. Rivarold loves to draw and paint. She taught him some painting techniques. The kids were so excited to help and pose for the music scene!
  We are very proud of what we, as a team, were able to accomplished So, whats been happening in the life of Project 418 anyway? January 1st we gathered all the children and staff from Delmas & Kenskoff together to celebrate their independence day. It was a day filled with Soup Joumou (A traditional Haitian soup shared to celebrate their independence from France)

Our agricultural sustainability initiative is beginning to produce PRODUCE!
 | This year we will grow Tons and tons of heads of lettuce, spinach carrots, potatoes, sweet potatoes, leeks, green peppers, beets, bananas, loquats, mangoes, avocados, tomatoes, heads of broccoli and enough parsley to last 3 years!  |

We are empowering formerly impoverished Haitian children and our staff through classroom education, technology and vocational training to become leaders with the resources and knowledge to break the cycle of extreme poverty. We are equipping them to be self-sufficient and independent.
Our vocational training includes carpentry, masonry and painting.

Our farming program trains children by the process of preparing the land to the harvest.
Our children become the staff, working in the garden, building furniture, building with block and cement, painting as well as cooking and cleaning.
This allows us to accomplish many things while teaching valuable skills.

A small store on the main street that sells many of the products that we made - such as mirrors, benches, desks, stools, shelves, chairs, and tables.
Vegetables that are not needed for consumption will be sold in the market also.
Personalized bracelets and necklaces.
Small cakes, soups, meat and vegetable patties, and pizza will be made and sold.
Other items purchased and sold for profit such as drinks and candies.

My trip to Haiti this week was exhilarating!
5 long years of plane rides, events, meetings, draining the bank account (pretty often) and many pains. I am proud to say it worked!

Our team arrived
safely in Haiti on
Monday afternoon.
| They went right to HC1 (Hope Center 1) in Citè Soleil when they arrived! The children greeted them with hugs and smiles.  |  They brought shoes and school supplies and met Dorcelien the director of HC1. |
Last night they helped package up some of the 7,500 lbs of rice and 2,200 lbs of beans that we have purchased for community aid through our partnership with Greater Impact Foundation. We distributed food to 275 families yesterday using just the Haitian team. Last Saturday, this same team distributed food to 300 families. Our teams will distribute food tomorrow to over 800 families in 2 locations as a relief from the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew.
Today, they visited a local school and met with the leaders who are doing a great job at making a difference in Haiti and giving hope for a bright future to their students.

Pastor Joe Jeffreys and his associate, Terri Drenth of The FCC (First Congregational Church Of Chelsea) will be joining us on a visit to Haiti today
The congregation collected over 200 pairs of shoes and a ton of school supplies!

Our staff is busy having fun with clean up on the grounds after the hurricane. Singing songs while they chop away in the Haitian way!
We are so thankful that none of our children, staff, or friends we're harmed in the disaster left in Hurricane Matthew's path.
We were able to purchase 3000 lbs of rice as the result of some generous donors. ❤️ Our partner (Tony Palmissano of Greater Impact Foundation) organized a community relief program to bring food aid to the Fort Jacques community that was hit pretty hard agriculturally by the hurricane. We have also stocked both orphanages!

2 orphanages housing 70 children and
a missions house with a total of 39 staff..
The storm took down 90 % of our trees
2 acres of crops used to supplement food
Our 600 gallon water tank blown off the roof into a neighbors yard with all the attached plumbing
leaving us no clean drinking water.
The satellite dish also blew off the roof.
All electric wires were broken by fallen trees.
We have a lot of damage to the roof.
There is water damage inside the house due to flooding, and
structural damage to the building
Clean up will take much effort!
When the storm ends we will do a walk through and evaluate more thoroughly.
